Description
Banana Bread Brownies are soft and moist bars that combine the comforting flavor of banana bread with the dense texture of brownies, topped with a sweet vanilla glaze.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in sour cream, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until combined.
- Fold in walnuts if using.
- Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool completely.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over cooled brownies and let set before slicing.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for best flavor.
- Do not overbake to keep brownies moist.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
