Description

This Brownie Bread recipe combines the rich, fudgy texture of brownies with the soft crumb of quick bread. It’s deeply chocolatey, moist, and perfect for slicing — a treat that pairs wonderfully with coffee or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chunks


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until glossy and well combined.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir gently until just combined.
  5. Pour in milk and mix until smooth. Fold in chocolate chips or chunks.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  8. Let the brownie bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Do not overbake — this bread is meant to stay moist and fudgy in the center.
  • For extra richness, drizzle melted chocolate or a dusting of powdered sugar on top before serving.
