Description
A bold and creamy Cajun Chicken Tortellini featuring tender pasta tossed with juicy spiced chicken and a rich garlic cream sauce — an irresistible fusion of spice and comfort in one skillet.
Ingredients
- 1 lb cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season chicken with Cajun seasoning and cook for 6–8 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, then add tortellini. Toss to coat everything evenly in the creamy garlic Cajun sauce.
- Simmer for 2–3 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan before serving.
Notes
- Use Cajun seasoning to taste — add more for extra heat.
- For a lighter version, replace heavy cream with half-and-half.
- This dish can be made with shrimp or sausage instead of chicken.
- Best served immediately but can be reheated with a splash of cream or milk.
