Description

A rich and indulgent twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, featuring tender shaved beef, sautéed onions and peppers, and a creamy cheddar cheese sauce inspired by Cheddar Bay flavors, all served on a toasted hoagie roll.


Ingredients

  • 450 g shaved beef steak
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, sauté until soft and lightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add shaved beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  4. Return the onions and peppers to the skillet and mix with the beef.
  5. In a saucepan over low heat, melt remaining butter, add cream cheese and milk, stirring until smooth.
  6. Add shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder, stirring until a creamy sauce forms.
  7. Toast hoagie rolls lightly.
  8. Fill each roll with beef mixture and generously spoon cheddar sauce over the top.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can substitute provolone for a milder flavor.
