Cheddar Bay Spaghetti Casserole is a comforting baked pasta dish made with tender spaghetti, creamy sauce, savory chicken, and a cheesy Cheddar Bay biscuit–inspired topping.
Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup Cheddar Bay biscuit mix (or cheddar biscuit mix)
- 1/3 cup milk (for topping)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute, then gradually add milk and chicken broth, whisking until smooth.
- Simmer until the sauce thickens, then stir in cheddar cheese, mozzarella, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add cooked chicken and spaghetti to the sauce and mix until well coated.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix biscuit mix, milk, melted butter, and parsley to form a thick batter.
- Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit topping evenly over the casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until the topping is golden and the casserole is bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken works well for convenience.
- You can add broccoli or spinach for extra vegetables.
- Cover loosely with foil if the topping browns too quickly.
