Description

Cheddar Bay Spaghetti Casserole is a comforting baked pasta dish made with tender spaghetti, creamy sauce, savory chicken, and a cheesy Cheddar Bay biscuit–inspired topping.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup Cheddar Bay biscuit mix (or cheddar biscuit mix)
  • 1/3 cup milk (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
  4. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute, then gradually add milk and chicken broth, whisking until smooth.
  5. Simmer until the sauce thickens, then stir in cheddar cheese, mozzarella, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Add cooked chicken and spaghetti to the sauce and mix until well coated.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. In a bowl, mix biscuit mix, milk, melted butter, and parsley to form a thick batter.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit topping evenly over the casserole.
  10. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until the topping is golden and the casserole is bubbly.
  11. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Rotisserie chicken works well for convenience.
  • You can add broccoli or spinach for extra vegetables.
  • Cover loosely with foil if the topping browns too quickly.
