Description
Cheesecake Stuffed Baked Apples are a warm, cozy dessert featuring tender baked apples filled with creamy cheesecake filling and topped with a crunchy graham cracker crumble.
Ingredients
- 4 large apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- Caramel sauce (for drizzling, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- Cut off the tops of the apples and carefully core them, scooping out the centers to create a well (leave the bottoms intact).
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, egg, sour cream, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
- Spoon cheesecake mixture into each hollowed apple until nearly full.
- In a small bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and brown sugar to form a crumble.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture on top of each filled apple.
- Place apples in prepared baking dish and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until apples are tender but not mushy.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired before serving.
Notes
- Granny Smith apples can be used for a tart contrast to the sweet filling.
- For extra flavor, add chopped pecans or walnuts to the crumble topping.
- Best served warm with vanilla ice cream.
- Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days and reheat before serving.
