Description

Beautifully presented chocolate chip cookies with a soft, chewy center and golden, aesthetic appearance — perfect for gifting, photos, or a cozy treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract; beat until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Press a few extra chocolate chips on top of each dough ball for an aesthetic look.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For a bakery-style aesthetic, use a mix of milk and dark chocolate chips.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top before baking for contrast and flavor.
