Description

These Christmas Bars are a festive, chewy dessert layered with buttery cookie crust, creamy white chocolate, and colorful holiday toppings. Perfect for cookie exchanges or holiday dessert tables, they’re easy to make, rich, and loaded with Christmas cheer in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup red and green M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Stir in white chocolate chips, M&Ms, sprinkles, and nuts (if using).
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars. Top with extra sprinkles or melted white chocolate if desired.

Notes

  • Do not overbake — the bars should stay soft and chewy in the center.
  • Swap M&Ms for crushed candy canes or dried cranberries for variation.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
