Description

A soft, fluffy cake swirled with buttery cinnamon sugar and topped with a sweet glaze, just like a cinnamon roll in cake form.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed (for filling)
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for filling)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 5 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
  3. Stir in milk, eggs, and vanilla, then mix in melted butter until smooth. Pour batter into prepared dish.
  4. For the filling: Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon into a paste. Drop spoonfuls over the batter and swirl with a knife.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. For the glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm cake.
  7. Slice and serve warm.
