Deliciously crispy chicken wraps filled with tender chicken, crunchy lettuce, and creamy sauce — perfect for a quick lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise or ranch dressing
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate chicken strips in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight for extra tenderness).
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Coat each chicken strip in the flour mixture, then roll in breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes for extra crunch.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Warm tortillas in a dry pan or microwave.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and hot sauce (if using) to make the wrap sauce.
- Assemble wraps: spread sauce on each tortilla, layer with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and crispy chicken.
- Roll up tightly, folding the edges in to secure the filling.
- Serve immediately or toast lightly on a pan for extra crispness.
