Description

Flavorful Mediterranean-spiced ground beef tucked into soft pita pockets with fresh veggies and a creamy yogurt tahini sauce—quick, healthy, and perfect for weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 4 pita pockets
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional but traditional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Yogurt Tahini Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium. Add diced onion and cook until softened.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in garlic, cumin, paprika, coriander, oregano, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Whisk together Greek yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to make the sauce.
  5. Warm pita pockets in a dry skillet or microwave.
  6. Fill each pita with seasoned beef, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, and parsley.
  7. Drizzle generously with yogurt tahini sauce and serve.
