Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced (cremini or button)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 cooked burger patties, grilled chicken breasts, or toasted sandwich bread
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
  • 2 burger buns or sandwich rolls, toasted


Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat.

  5. For sandwiches or burgers: Spread mayonnaise on toasted buns or bread slices. Layer the cooked beef patty or chicken breast, then spoon over the cheesy mushroom mixture.
  6. Top with the remaining bun or bread and serve immediately while warm and melty.
