Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil or parsley
- 4 hoagie rolls, ciabatta, or sandwich buns
- 4 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Cook the Steak: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced steak, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add onion and sauté for 2–3 minutes until soft. Stir in garlic and sun-dried tomatoes; cook another minute.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and pour in heavy cream. Stir in Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return steak to the skillet and toss in the sauce until coated. Sprinkle with chopped basil or parsley.
- Assemble the Sandwiches: Toast the buns lightly in the oven or on a skillet. Place a slice of provolone or mozzarella on each bottom half and spoon the creamy steak mixture on top. Close with the top bun.
- Optional: Broil the assembled sandwiches for 1–2 minutes to melt the cheese completely.
- Serve hot and enjoy every creamy, cheesy, juicy bite!
Notes
- Use shaved ribeye for a Philly-style texture or sirloin for a leaner option.
- For extra flavor, spread a little garlic butter or aioli on the toasted bread.
- Add spinach or arugula for a fresh twist.
- This sauce also works beautifully with grilled chicken or shrimp.
