Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 cup dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, peanuts, or walnuts)
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut or sprinkles (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice bananas and place them in a single layer on the baking sheet. Freeze for 1 hour or until firm.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Dip each frozen banana slice halfway or fully into melted chocolate, then place back on the parchment-lined sheet.
- Immediately sprinkle with chopped nuts, coconut, or sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.
- Freeze again for at least 30 minutes until the chocolate is set.
- Store in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Use peanut butter between two banana slices before dipping for a richer snack.
- You can use white or milk chocolate for variation.
- For a vegan version, use dairy-free chocolate chips.
- Best enjoyed slightly thawed for a creamy texture.
