Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp instant coffee granules (dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water)
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tbsp strong brewed coffee (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking dish or round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, alternating with milk and dissolved coffee, mixing until smooth.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, drizzle with caramel sauce, then top with remaining batter. Swirl gently with a knife for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool slightly, then drizzle extra caramel sauce over the cake.
- For glaze: whisk powdered sugar with brewed coffee until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake before serving.
