Description

Ground Beef Hot Honey Bowls are a savory-sweet dish made with seasoned ground beef, drizzled with spicy hot honey, and served over rice with fresh toppings for a quick and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp hot honey
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • 2 cups cooked white rice (or brown rice)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup cucumber slices
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 7–8 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Cook for 2–3 minutes until flavors meld.
  4. Drizzle hot honey over the beef and stir to coat evenly. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Assemble bowls by adding a scoop of rice, topping with ground beef mixture, shredded carrots, cucumber slices, and green onions.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and extra hot honey if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Adjust hot honey amount depending on spice preference.
  • Serve with quinoa or cauliflower rice for a low-carb version.
  • Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
