Description
A quick and flavorful honey garlic shrimp with tender broccoli, cooked in a sweet and savory sauce for an easy weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add broccoli florets and sauté for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining olive oil to the skillet.
- Add shrimp, season with black pepper, and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey garlic sauce and simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return shrimp and broccoli to the skillet and toss to coat evenly.
- Cook for another 1–2 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and serve warm.
Notes
- Do not overcook the shrimp to keep them tender.
- Serve over rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice.
- You can substitute snap peas or green beans for broccoli.
