Ingredients
- 2 slices whole-grain or sourdough bread
- 3–4 oz sliced turkey breast
- 1/2 avocado, sliced
- 2–3 tomato slices
- Lettuce or spinach leaves
- 2 slices Swiss or provolone cheese (optional)
- Honey Mustard Spread:
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
- Pinch of salt and pepper
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, mayonnaise (or yogurt), salt, and pepper to make the honey mustard spread.
- Lightly toast the bread if desired.
- Spread the honey mustard mixture evenly on both slices of bread.
- Layer lettuce or spinach on the bottom slice, followed by turkey, cheese (if using), tomato slices, and avocado.
- Top with the second slice of bread and gently press together.
- Slice in half and serve immediately.
