Description
A fun and comforting fusion dish that combines all the cheesy, beefy flavors of a classic cheeseburger with the layered, saucy goodness of lasagna.
Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup yellow mustard
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1/4 cup dill pickles, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
- 1 large egg
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Sesame seeds for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in garlic, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta (or cottage cheese) with egg and a pinch of salt.
- Assemble: Spread a thin layer of beef mixture in the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan. Add a layer of noodles, then some ricotta mixture, cheddar, mozzarella, chopped pickles, and more beef mixture. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, ending with cheese.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for a cheeseburger bun effect (optional).
- Bake 25–30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Add cooked bacon for a bacon cheeseburger twist.
- Use pepper jack cheese for a spicy variation.
- Replace noodles with oven-ready ones for convenience.
- Serve with shredded lettuce and extra pickles on the side.
