Description

A fun and comforting fusion dish that combines all the cheesy, beefy flavors of a classic cheeseburger with the layered, saucy goodness of lasagna.

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1/4 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Sesame seeds for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in garlic, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta (or cottage cheese) with egg and a pinch of salt.
  6. Assemble: Spread a thin layer of beef mixture in the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan. Add a layer of noodles, then some ricotta mixture, cheddar, mozzarella, chopped pickles, and more beef mixture. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, ending with cheese.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for a cheeseburger bun effect (optional).
  8. Bake 25–30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Add cooked bacon for a bacon cheeseburger twist.
  • Use pepper jack cheese for a spicy variation.
  • Replace noodles with oven-ready ones for convenience.
  • Serve with shredded lettuce and extra pickles on the side.
