Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) frozen or fresh French fries
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup (120g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup ranch dressing
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare an air fryer according to the fries package instructions.
- Toss the fries with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Bake or air fry until crispy and golden, about 18–22 minutes.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk and cook until slightly thickened.
- Add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until smooth to create a cheese sauce.
- Arrange the hot fries on a serving plate.
- Pour the warm cheese sauce over the fries.
- Drizzle ranch dressing and hot sauce over the top.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra spice, add cayenne pepper or additional hot sauce.
- You can add crispy chicken pieces or bacon for a heartier version.
