Description

Crispy French fries topped with spicy Cajun seasoning, creamy cheese sauce, and a tangy ranch drizzle inspired by Louisiana-style voodoo fries. A bold and flavorful appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) frozen or fresh French fries
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup (120g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare an air fryer according to the fries package instructions.
  2. Toss the fries with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Bake or air fry until crispy and golden, about 18–22 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until slightly thickened.
  6. Add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until smooth to create a cheese sauce.
  7. Arrange the hot fries on a serving plate.
  8. Pour the warm cheese sauce over the fries.
  9. Drizzle ranch dressing and hot sauce over the top.
  10. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add cayenne pepper or additional hot sauce.
  • You can add crispy chicken pieces or bacon for a heartier version.
  • Serve immediately to keep the fries crispy.
