Description

Louisiana Voodoo Fries are crispy golden fries tossed in Cajun seasoning and topped with creamy cheese sauce, ranch drizzle, and a spicy kick for a bold Southern-inspired snack.

Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toss cut potatoes with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Spread fries evenly on baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and whisk in flour to form a roux.
  5. Slowly add milk while whisking until smooth and thickened.
  6. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Arrange hot fries on a serving plate.
  8. Pour cheese sauce over fries and drizzle with ranch dressing.
  9. Add hot sauce and sprinkle green onions if desired.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Fries can be air-fried at 200°C (400°F) for 18–20 minutes.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning and hot sauce for preferred spice level.
