Description
Louisiana Voodoo Fries are crispy golden fries tossed in Cajun seasoning and topped with creamy cheese sauce, ranch drizzle, and a spicy kick for a bold Southern-inspired snack.
Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup ranch dressing
- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Toss cut potatoes with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
- Spread fries evenly on baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and whisk in flour to form a roux.
- Slowly add milk while whisking until smooth and thickened.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Arrange hot fries on a serving plate.
- Pour cheese sauce over fries and drizzle with ranch dressing.
- Add hot sauce and sprinkle green onions if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, soak potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking.
- Fries can be air-fried at 200°C (400°F) for 18–20 minutes.
- Adjust Cajun seasoning and hot sauce for preferred spice level.
