A rich and creamy baked chicken casserole loaded with cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, and buttery crackers for a comforting, indulgent family favorite.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 sleeve buttery crackers, crushed
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a casserole dish.
- In a large bowl, mix sour cream, cream of chicken soup, cream cheese, and cottage cheese until smooth.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; stir to combine.
- Fold in shredded chicken and half of the cheddar cheese.
- Spread mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish.
- Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese over the top.
- Mix crushed crackers with melted butter and sprinkle evenly over casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken works great for this recipe.
- Add cooked bacon bits for extra richness.
- Serve with green beans or a fresh salad.
