Description

A festive Christmas wreath-shaped pastry made with flaky puff pastry and rich Nutella, braided and baked to golden perfection—easy, beautiful, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup Nutella, softened
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Optional: crushed hazelnuts for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll puff pastry and gently roll it out to smooth the folds.
  3. Spread an even layer of Nutella over the entire sheet.
  4. Roll the pastry tightly into a log from the long side.
  5. Slice the log in half lengthwise to expose the layers.
  6. Twist the two halves together, keeping the cut sides facing outward.
  7. Form the twisted pastry into a wreath and pinch ends together to seal.
  8. Whisk egg with milk and brush over the wreath.
  9. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  10. Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and sprinkle with hazelnuts if desired.

Notes

  • Chill the rolled pastry 10 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.
  • Add cinnamon or orange zest to the Nutella for a festive twist.
  • Use two sheets for a larger, thicker wreath.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
