Description
A festive Nutella Christmas wreath pastry made with flaky puff pastry, rich chocolate-hazelnut spread, and shaped into a beautiful holiday centerpiece.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 3/4 cup Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon chopped hazelnuts (optional)
- Fresh raspberries or cranberries (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place one sheet of puff pastry on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread Nutella evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Place the second puff pastry sheet on top and gently press the edges to seal.
- Place a small bowl in the center and cut the pastry into a wreath shape.
- Cut the ring into evenly spaced strips, then twist each strip twice.
- Remove the bowl and brush the pastry with beaten egg.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and decorate as desired before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
- Do not overfill with Nutella to prevent leaking.
- Best enjoyed the same day it is baked.
