Description

Ingredients

  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter (optional, for serving)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly, then pat them dry.
  3. Pierce each potato several times with a fork.
  4. Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with salt and black pepper.
  5. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 45–60 minutes, turning once, until the skins are crisp and a fork easily pierces the center.
