Ingredients
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly, then pat them dry.
- Pierce each potato several times with a fork.
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with salt and black pepper.
- Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 45–60 minutes, turning once, until the skins are crisp and a fork easily pierces the center.
- Remove from the oven, slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, and add butter if desired.
