Description
Fluffy pancakes filled with warm, melty Nutella centers—an indulgent breakfast treat that’s surprisingly easy to make.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Nutella
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment. Scoop small spoonfuls of Nutella onto the sheet, forming 8–10 discs. Freeze for at least 20–30 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir gently until just combined—do not overmix.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium and lightly grease with butter.
- Pour a small amount of pancake batter onto the pan, place a frozen Nutella disc in the center, then cover with a little more batter.
- Cook until bubbles form and edges look set, then flip and cook until golden.
- Repeat with remaining batter and Nutella discs.
- Serve warm with powdered sugar or fruit if desired.
Notes
- Freezing Nutella is essential to prevent it from leaking during cooking.
- Add banana slices on top for a Nutella-banana combo.
- Swap Nutella for peanut butter or Biscoff spread for variations.
- Keep pancakes warm in a 200°F oven while finishing the batch.
