Description

Tasty Banana Mochi is a soft and chewy snack made with glutinous rice flour and ripe bananas, lightly sweetened and perfectly tender with a delightful tropical flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch (for dusting)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix mashed bananas, sugar, coconut milk, oil, and salt until smooth.
  2. Add glutinous rice flour and stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Transfer mixture to a lightly greased heatproof dish and smooth the top.
  4. Steam over medium heat for 20–25 minutes until set and slightly translucent.
  5. Let cool until safe to handle.
  6. Dust a clean surface with cornstarch and turn out the mochi.
  7. Cut into bite-sized pieces, dusting with more cornstarch to prevent sticking.
  8. Serve fresh or store in an airtight container.
