Description
An ultra-creamy, extra-cheesy pimento cheese spread loaded with sharp cheddar, smooth cream cheese, and sweet pimentos. Perfect as a dip, sandwich filling, or classic Southern appetizer.
Ingredients
- 3 cups (300g) sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- 1 cup (100g) extra-sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (120ml) mayonnaise
- 1 jar (4 oz) diced pimentos, drained
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add mayonnaise and mix until fully combined and creamy.
- Stir in the shredded sharp cheddar and extra-sharp cheddar cheeses.
- Fold in the drained pimentos, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper if using.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Mix until everything is evenly combined and creamy.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature with crackers, bread, or vegetables.
Notes
- Freshly shred the cheese for the creamiest texture; pre-shredded cheese may not blend as smoothly.
- Adjust spice levels by adding more cayenne or a splash of hot sauce.
